Avista Adventist, Louisville

Question: We’re pregnant with our first and would like to find a good place/person to take some childbirth classes from. We’d appreciate any suggestions.
Response: I have not yet taken the childbirth classes but I know that Avista Adventist in Louisville offers a wide range of classes, including childbirth. We've taken a tour with them and were impressed with their overall care and attention to detail. Carla is the contact person for classes and she is great: 303-673-1029. 1/10
Bradley Method, Dee the Doula

Question: We’re pregnant with our first and would like to find a good place/person to take some childbirth classes from. We’d appreciate any suggestions.
Response: Dee the Doula is excellent, she offers Bradley childbirth classes & Doula services during labor & delivery. We used her services for both with our 2nd child, & the entire experience was much better than the 1st. She is also an RN, which is very helpful while in the hospital. She can be reached at 303-517-7944 or 303-442-1672. 1/10
Response: I highly recommend taking a Bradley Method class! It's a great bonding experience with your partner and will give you the tools you need to have an amazing birth experience. We took our class in MN so I can't comment on local instructors, but check out www.birthingbeautifully.com or search the directory at www.bradleybirth.com. Good luck! 1/10
Exempla Good Samaritan Hospital, Lafayette

Question: We’re pregnant with our first and would like to find a good place/person to take some childbirth classes from. We’d appreciate any suggestions.
Response: I took several classes at Exempla Good Samaritan Hospital in Lafayette. I felt all the classes were reasonably priced and informative. The childbirth class was one night a week for several weeks and focused on stages of the birthing process, what to expect, ways to cope with labor (drugs versus breathing and other alternatives), etc. 1/10
