Broomfield Pediatrics and Internal Medicine

Question: I’m wondering if anyone knows of a good family doctor or pediatrician in the area (we’re in Westminster and not through Kaiser).  I’d like to get an H1N1 flu vaccine for my son and husband.

Response: My kids love Dr. Gonzales at Broomfield Pediatrics and Internal Medicine.  I see Dr. Milan there and my husband sees Dr. Palazzari.  We like them all.  They take most insurances.  I have also heard good things about Dr. Starbuck at Arvada Peds.   10/09

Question: I've heard going to an internist is often better than a general practice doc. Anyone have thoughts on this? And more importantly, does anyone have a recommendation for either a good internist or general practice doc (for myself, not my kids) within close proximity to Broomfield? Thanks!

Response: In my experience, internists are much more specialized than general practitioners and they usually have patients that reflect that specialization (ie: someone with kidney failure or heart disease).  If you have a specific need, an internist would probably be a good choice.  If you aren’t looking for something specific, I would go with a general practitioner.  The docs over at Broomfield Pediatrics and Internal Medicine are great if you’re looking for an internist.  Currently we have Kaiser insurance and I’ve been very happy with my OB there (Dr. Nazreth) as well as the pediatric staff (Westminster location.  Hope that helps!     1/10

Arvada Pediatrics

Question: Can anyone recommend either an MD (family practice or pediatrician) accepting of alternative vaccination schedules and/or a family practice osteopath in Broomfield. Thank-you!

Response: We go to Arvada Ped’s on Lowell and 120th and they are fantastic.  We chose to go there because we had heard that they were willing to use holistic remedies as well as the medical model.  I’m not positive that they do alternative vaccination schedules, but of all the places I know of here in Broomfield, they would probably be your best bet.  If you’re willing to go into Boulder, there is the Helios integrated medicine family practice that you might want to check out (just google it and you’ll see their webpage).   7/10

Kaiser Westminster, Dr. Merrill

Question: We will be having our first baby sometime towards the end of January. Does anybody have a favorite Kaiser pediatrician they'd like to recommend? Thanks for the help!

Response: We used to be at Kaiser and loved our pediatrician there (my kids actually cried when we told them we couldn’t go back to her!).  Her name is Dr. Merrill and she’s at Kaiser Westminster.  She’s very thorough, spends time getting to know you and your kids, but isn’t pushy or high-stress.  I would definitely give her a try!     1/11
