Buffalo Bill’s Grave

Question: We have friends coming to visit us over President's Day weekend.  We'd would welcome any suggestions for things to do locally with older children.  Their son is 12 and their daughter is 9.

Response: We love going to Buffalo Bill's Grave and Museum. Lovely views, some inside, some outside, may see the bison herd on the way up. Great video (I didn't know Buffalo Bill was a Suffragist! Paid his women employees same as his men! Go Bill!)

A second choice is the Morrison Dinosaur Museum. Hands on, small and intimate, real excavation stuff, also inside and outside. Tours done by real scientists.

If you have time for a drive, the Cave of the Winds or the Cliff Dwellings in Co Springs are both awesome.     2/11

Butterfly Pavilion

Response: How about Jump Street off of I-25, the trampoline wharehouse. I've been there with kids at a variety of ages and they all love it. It's close, fairly cheap, indoors out of the cold, and it's great exercise to get energy out! The Butterfly Pavilion can be really fun too, where you get to hold Rosy the tarantula and see all sorts of insects. If you are more adventurous, Winter Park has great snow tubing, but it can be kinda expensive (I think its $16/hr). I believe Boulder has an ice rink that can be fun for kids. Have fun!      2/11
