Question: I’ve been so frustrated trying to figure out the maternity thing with no prenatal/delivery insurance coverage.  Have any of you been through this?  If so, did you find a good OB or a good hospital (that doesn’t charge an arm and a leg) willing to work with cash patients?  Any advice, info or tips would be much appreciated!

Response: I think the county Health and Human Service Dept. has a fund to assist uninsured mothers-to-be  3/10

Response: We had a wonderful experience at Avista Hospital in Louisville.  They will settle a flat fee with you before delivery (with complications adding to the cost).  I think most hospitals are willing to do this, so you could call around and see which is best.    3/10
