Cinebarre Theater, Thornton

Some of you probably already know about the Cinebarre theater in Thornton.  We just discovered it this summer and it’s definitely a fun place to go with the kids (or without!).  The concept is basically a movie theater where you can also order food and drinks right from your seat!  Since the AMC theaters have stopped their dollar movie program this summer, this is another good option for getting out with the kids for cheap.

How it Works: Once inside the theater you choose your seat(s). Each row of seats has a table in front of it. Menus, order cards and pencils are placed on the table. A server will come by and greet you, taking any orders you are ready to place. Future orders can be made by writing your desired choices on the piece of paper and placing in the bar attached to the table (please make sure the paper is standing straight up so the server can clearly see it). Throughout the film you can order like this.

The Price: Tickets to any movie (except 3D) are only $5 Monday through Thursday.  On the weekend they are $9 for adults.  You do NOT have to order any food while there.  Obviously, with lower ticket prices, the food isn’t cheap, but there is a good variety of items and it is much higher quality than what you’d find at other theaters.

One of the things I love about Cinebarre is that it’s 18 and up - meaning anyone under 18 has to be accompanied by a legal parent or guardian.  I like this because you don’t get large groups of teenagers getting crazy in the theater or people with young children (children under 3 are never allowed in).  That said, they do have a really cool program called “Cry Baby Day”.  The Cry Baby Day is offered every Tuesday during the first showing of each film.  This showing is intended for parents to be able to bring their infants or any children under 6 (for free) to watch a movie where the lights are a bit brighter and the sounds is a bit less intense.  These are not children’s movies, just regular movies where parents can come without arranging for a sitter.  Since it’s on Tuesday, that’s $10 for a date!  On Mondays they also have a “Kids Eat Free” day - free kids meals all day long.

Elvis Cinemas, Arvada

Question: I’ve heard there’s a dollar theater in the area, but I can’t figure out where it is.  Do any of you know about this?  Thanks.

Response: Arvada has a cheaper movie theater called Elvis Cinemas Arvada. The address is 5157 W 64th Ave Arvada, CO 80003. Their phone number is (303) 426-4122. Ticket prices are listed on their website http://elviscinemas.com/pages/prices.htm. They show movies that are no longer running in other theaters. So, right now they are showing things that came out in late fall 2010. Good luck!.   1/11

Response: Elvis theaters are 2-3 dollars I think, have not been there in a while.     1/11
